Have you ever found yourself in a position where you’re feeling suppressed and unable to be yourself? Wanting desperately to thrive but feeling like you’re merely swimming to stay alive? Knowing there is something different out there but lacking the courage to leave your comfort zone and pursue it? It’s not easy, but it doesn’t have to be forever.
Don’t let someone else’s opinion of where you should be and what you should be doing dictate your reality. You get one chance to be alive so don’t live your life according to someone else’s schedule or agenda.
Define your own meaning of success and chase it. It doesn’t have to be dollar bills or flashy vacations. Society has adopted this representation of success and celebrates big bank accounts and shiny lifestyles. But really, success is extremely personal and can mean many different things.
Figure out what success means to you. Not your friends, not your family, not your boss. YOU. Then figure out how you can achieve that while living a lifestyle that aligns with that definition and the person you want to be.
Yes, you need income. That’s simply a reality. And I’d never suggest to anyone that they risk their financial security and chaotically chase after their dreams. But there is a way. Make a plan, build a cushion, and start taking steps toward your own definition of success.
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying ‘you didn’t come this far to only come this far.’ Keep going. Stay focused. Stop settling.
